And lined with organic cotton canvas to give it strength. Includes a press button inside plus a decorative coconut shell button on the outside with a loop closure. Sustainable cork leather handles.
The word Kantha in Sanskrit translates to 'rag'. Traditionally, this is in fact how the folk art of Kantha originated. Rural, often poor women would sew together laters and scraps of discarded rags into warm coverlets for their family. Our Kantha artisans are based in a village in West Bengal India. The women use a simple running stitch, the native Kantha embroidery to sew together pieces of upcycled silk saris that go into making this bag.
Size is approximately 13" X 16" X 4". Size might vary depending on the size of the scarf but not by much.
